Winter 2026... Break

– WRITE YOUR STORY-

Dear participants,

Like us, many of you were looking forward to this ski touring festival, but a few days ago we made a difficult but necessary decision: the Trace Des Grands will be taking a break this winter: the TDG 2026 is cancelled.

Behind these 4 successful editions, a small team of volunteers has put its heart and soul into bringing you an incredible mountain experience. Your smiles, your messages, your enthusiasm have given us the strength to go on year after year, and we look forward to seeing you again this year.

Why the pause?

Despite all our passion and commitment, we’ve reached certain human limits.

To continue to offer you an experience that lives up to your expectations, we need to take a breather. We’re going to use this winter to restructure our organization and secure the event’s future.

One thing’s for sure, we’re going to miss you.

Stay tuned, and we’ll be back in the spring with news from the Trace Des Grands.

THE HISTORY OF LA TRACE

As lovers of our valley and passionate about ski touring, we wanted La Trace Des Grands to offer you an event and an experience in keeping with the DNA of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc.
The story begins on August 8, 1786 and never ends. From the 1st ascent of Mont-Blanc by Jacques Balmat and Dr Michel Paccard, to the 1st Winter Olympics in 2024, the great feats of famous mountaineers and the development of trail running with the UTMB, Chamonix has always offered an exceptional playground for great sporting and human adventures. La Trace Des Grands offers you the chance to experience an exceptional day out in the mountains, thanks to its secured pop-up trails. Whether you’re a beginner, an avid ski tourer or a competitive racer, one of our trails is made for you.
